One of the biggest events on the sporting calendar, the Super Bowl , is taking place tonight.

It is the 52nd Super Bowl, and will see the Philadelphia Eagles facing the New England Patriots for the title of 2017 National Football League (NFL) Champions.

The game, and the highly anticipated halftime show, is watched by millions of people across the globe each year - and this year will be no different.

This year, Justin Timberlake is set to headline the halftime show, for the first time since his controversial co-headlining slot with Janet Jackson in 2004 - in which Jackson made Super Bowl history with an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction.

With the game taking place at the US Bank Stadium, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the first play is expected to kick off at 11.30pm UK time.

If you don't want to rely on coffee to stay up for the three-and-a-half hour spectacle, you could always head to one of the pubs or restaurants in Coventry which are showing it. Check them out:

The Aardvark

The student friendly city centre pub has confirmed that it is staying open for the duration of the game tonight.

Open until 5am, it is offering free entry, and food is being served until 3am.

The Phoenix

Located around the corner from Coventry University, The Phoenix is the priciest offering on the list, but they are certainly making a night of it.

At the end of a day which has showcased rugby, football (of the round ball type), and even a pub quiz, the Gosford Street venue is transforming itself into a Super Bowl sanctuary.

Entry tonight costs £5, and the evening will include a raffle, beer pong, and food challenges.

Can't make it out?
