ALLAHABAD: The closing ceremony of the three-day 'NCR Officers'
Sports and Cultural Meet' was held in the stadium at Railgaon Colony in North Central Railway headquarters, in Subedarganj, Allahabad, on Sunday.
A number of track and field events like mini marathon, 100m race, 400m relay race, tug of war and kite flying were held on the last day of the meet for men and women in different age categories. In the three-day event, which began on Feb 2, where teams of NCR headquarter and its three division i.e. Allahabad, Jhansi and Agra.
In the overall results, NCR headquarters stood at overall first position, both in the sports and cultural categories. In the sports category, NCR headquarter stood first with 27 Gold, 25 Silver and 17 bronze medals-earning 740 points. Likewise, in the cultural category also the NCR HQ topped with 15 Gold, 11 Silver and 9 Bronze medals-earning 380 points.
Speaking on the occasion, NCR, GM MC Chauhan congratulated the winning teams and participants in the sports and cultural streams of the meet. Praising the sportsman spirit that was on display throughout the competition, he said that such competitions serve to develop team spirit among the officers which has a positive impact on their day to day work.
"Sports and cultural activities foster discipline and spirit of cooperation and bonhomie among the officers, which ultimately lead to better performance in the discharge of their duties" he added.
