THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP national executive committee member V Muraleedharan has said that the reports that Centre is planning to privatise Hindustan Latex, a public sector unit, is baseless.

 “No such move is afoot from the part of Central government. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has informed this. On the basis of the reports, I along with a few BMS petitioners had met the minister. The Centre will not take any step against the interests of labourers. Neethi Ayog had put forward some recommendations on privatisation. But it has not even come under the consideration of the Centre,” he said on Sunday.

Muraleedharan also handed over to Jaitley memorandum, seeking the Centre not to privatise Hindustan latex.
