Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo published a story claiming that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was ready to sell their star asset.
It was said that Tottenham were keen avoid a similar situation as to when they sold Luka Modric in 2012.
They also claimed that the north London club would not be interested in a player-plus-cash offer involving Gareth Bale.
Instead, it was reported that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are hoping for a straight up sale to esnure that they have time to rebuild the squad.

In case anyone doubts it, it's not true that Tottenham is ready to sell Kane.
But Balague has put paid to those rumours by stressing that Tottenham are not interesting in selling Kane.
“In case anyone doubts it, it's not true that Tottenham is ready to sell Kane,” Balague wrote on Twitter.
“This story is not true.”
Meanwhile, Tottenham have always maintained their desire to keep hold of Kane.

Real are thought to be searching for a striker to replace misfiring Karim Benzema.
The Frenchman has only scored two league goals all season as Los Blancos sit fourth in the table.
Chelsea’s Eden Hazard is also thought to be a target of Zinedine Zidane.
