Area Bowling: A-Town advances to sectional

DECATUR — The Abingdon-Avon girls bowling teams advanced to the LaSalle-Peru Sectional with a second-place finish at the Decatur Girls Bowling Regional on Saturday.

The Tornadoes finished with 4,958 pins — 234 pins behind first-place Pana’s 5,192 pins.

Vanessa Turner led A-Town with a six-game 1,186 pins. Amber Stevenson bowled a 1,127 series, Alexis Wilson had 1,059 pins, Olivia Sims finished with 859 pins and Allie Bryan scored 760 for the Tornadoes.

Also advancing were Hoopeston (4,887) and Streator Township (4,697).
