BNP activists recently attacked a prison van and snatched two detained fellowmen from it near High Court area of the capital.
Three policemen were also injured as they swooped on the law enforcers guarding the vehicle with sticks.
The Home Minister said the attack was carried out from the convoy of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia who was crossing the area on the way to her Gulshan home from a court in Bakshibazar.
"We've the video footage. We're identifying them (attackers)," he said during a question-answer session in the House.
"It was a sudden attack on police. They poke two rifles and vandalised a prison van," the minister added.
Asaduzzaman said the government will ping the attackers under legal steps and they are working towards that.

Replying to a starred question from treasury bench member M Yeasin Ali of Thakurgaon, he informed the government has undertaken a plan to construct barb fence including 271 kilometer ring road from Shahpari Island on Myanmar border in phases aimed at preventing illegal intrusion, crimes, drug smuggling and border related other criminal activities.
“We will construct 271 kilometer barb fence along with ring road from Shahpori Island on Myanmar border area in phases aimed at preventing unauthorised infiltration, drug smuggling and border related criminal activities,” Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said.
The minister said the government has taken the plan to construct the barb fence and ring road in primary stage considering keeping law and order under control in the country.
