Injured Steelers LB Ryan Shazier, who was discharged from University of Pittsburgh Medical Center rehabilitation late last week, has "regained movement in his legs and is engaging in a regular walking routine, sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Shazier suffered a spinal injury in Week 13 that required spinal stabilization surgery on Dec. 7, three days after he was carted off Heinz Field on a backboard following a tackle attempt on "Monday Night Football."

"He's making incredible progress, a source told Schefter of Shazier, who reportedly first regained feeling in his legs around a month ago but was just released from his rehab program Thursday.

The 25-year-old two-time Pro Bowler's recovery over the next three-to-six months will be vital in determining how much additional function he can gain, Schefter's report said. Shazier has attended Steelers games and practices since the injury, one his father, pastor Vernon Shazier, maintains his son will return from to play football again.

While that may remain a longshot, the fact Shazier is walking less than two months after he lay motionless on the turf at a silent Heinz Field following a tackle attempt with his head down is an incredible development.
