Vikings Fans Still Hurt

Don Jorgensen reports:
They didn't make it to the Super Bowl, AGAIN!  but that's not stopping Minnesota Vikings fans from showing their true colors even while surrounded by Eagles and Patriots fans in Minneapolis this week.

There's still plenty of Vikings pride in Minneapolis this week, even though the team missed out on yet another Super Bowl appearance.

Kyle Gudmundson of Iceland, who's in town visiting family, says watching Eagles and Patriots fans walking around Minneapolis, stings even more than the bitter Minnesota cold.

"This is tough to take, not having the Vikings here playing here this weekend, it's a little bit hard to get pumped up for the Super Bowl," Kyle Gudmundson said

"I was 100% confident coming into the last game against the Eagles, it is tough being here and not being in the Super Bowl it's hard to swallow that one," Kyle Roemhildt of Elysion Minnesota.

If the Vikings had made the Super Bowl, they would have been the first team in NFL history to play in their own stadium during the big game.  Even though it didn't happen, they're still not ashamed to sport the purple and gold.

"Nope not one bit I'm a diehard Vikings fan," Roemhildt said.

A lot of Vikings fans thought this year was going to be their year.

"I can't even imagine, I've never seen the Vikings in the Super Bowl in my lifetime and we were that close I wanted it so bad," Roemhildt said.

Julie Ramsland is from Minneapolis, but enjoys hunting pheasants in South Dakota.   Next season, she hopes to be hunting for something else...a Super Bowl.

"There's always next year."
