More than 100 million people will tune in Sunday to watch the New England Patriots take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII. For many Pittsburgh fans, this is a bit of a worst nightmare — two of the most hated NFL teams facing off in the big game. But there's still plenty of fun facts (and food) to be enjoyed in preparation for the Super Bowl.
15: The number of Super Bowl rings won by Beaver County natives. Aliquippa leads the pack with seven rings won by four players or coaches. Four of those rings were won with the New England Patriots — Ty Law won three, while Darrelle Revis won one.
63: Total number of Beaver County NFL players all-time. By high school, Aliquippa has had 11 alumni in the pros, while Ambridge and Beaver Falls have had nine each.
13: The number of NFL franchises that have never lifted the Lombardi trophy. The Steelers are not among them, with their six Super Bowl rings.
$5,700: The average price of a ticket for this year's Super Bowl on the secondary market. That's a far cry from the most expensive Super Bowl ticket ever, $27,983 for Super Bowl 50.
$895: The most expensive ticket offered through Ticketmaster to see Justin Timberlake perform at PPG Paints Arena on June 1 as of Friday afternoon. Timberlake will perform at the Super Bowl halftime show for the first time since his infamous "Wardrobe Malfunction" performance with Janet Jackson in 2004.
1,000: Total pounds of chicken wings that Zooky’s in Fallston goes through on any given Super Bowl Sunday. The National Chicken Council estimates that Americans will eat 1.32 billion wings during the big game.
11 million: Number of slices Domino’s Pizza sells on Super Bowl Sunday, a 350 percent increase from a typical Sunday. Super Bowl Sunday typically is the third busiest day for pizza joints, following Halloween and New Year’s Eve.
83 percent: The percentage of homes that own a Crock Pot, the infamous slow-cooker that caught fire at the end of the NBC drama "This is Us," causing the fire that killed its beloved protagonist, Jack Pearson. The Pittsburgh-set drama airs after the Super Bowl.
$5 million-plus: The cost of a 30-second commercial during the Super Bowl, according to Sports Illustrated. That's more than 10 times the cost of a similar commercial during Game 7 of the World Series in 2016.
$3 million: The highest bet placed in Las Vegas at MGM for the Eagles to win the Super Bowl. It's estimated that more than $4.8 billion will be bet on the game, the majority of which will be bet illegally, including on private football pools.
