Donald Ray Zeitler, 75, of Sioux City, died unexpectedly on Dec. 7, 2017, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, following a brief illness.
Graveside services will be held, in the spring for family and friend, in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Don was born on March 15, 1942, in Le Mars, Iowa, the youngest of 10 children of Ray and Esther (Anderson) Zeitler. He joined the U.S. Army in 1964 and served during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharge in may 1966.
Don worked at Cloverleaf Cold Storage in Sioux City, for more than 24 years. He later worked at Soo Tractor Company for several years, retiring when they closed.
Don's main hobby was fishing with his children. He was an avid sports fan, watching football, basketball, golf, auto racing and anything else having to do with sports on television. Don was a big Hawkeye fan. He also enjoyed his cats and dogs as pets throughout his life.
Survivors include his three children, Dana, Carrie and Tina: and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
