
THE summer of sport has given way to a glut of reality television as the networks fight it out to claim the first week of ratings for 2018.
But sports fans have plenty to look forward to this week. There are the Women's and Men's Big Bash League finals, which will air back-to-back on Channel 10 today.
Then on Friday the 2018 Winter Games officially open in PyeongChang, South Korea. Australia has a strong team this year, giving us real hope for a few medals.
The Logie-winning Goggleboxers also return this week to analyse, deconstruct and poke fun of the week in television.
A talented Aussie cast has also been assembled to tickle your funny bone in the new ABC series Squinters.
Here are this week's highlights of the small screen and why you should tune in:
Sunday February 4: Women's and Men's BBL grand finals, Ten, from noon

IN AN action-packed day of Big Bash League action, the men's and women's finalists will face off in two epic battles for the 2017-18 title.
Why you should watch: This is your last chance to see some scorching BBL action until next season. Which teams will walk away victorious?
Monday February 5: My Kitchen Rules, Seven, 7.30pm

THE teams travel to the Sunshine Coast where surfie couple Ash and Matty are in the zone for their big debut. Will fish out of water Matty sink or swim on a night where sharks are circling at the table?
Why you should watch: Matty admits he doesn't know anything about cooking, so will he be a help or a hindrance to Ash in the kitchen? And will the other teams be fair to the unassuming Queenslanders?
Tuesday February 6: Married At First Sight, Nine, 7.30pm

TONIGHT features the final wedding of the season. The honeymoons also continue. Can Troy win over his sceptical bride? Meanwhile, John hits a hurdle on his honeymoon.
Why you should watch: The couples will be finalized tonight, establishing the dynamics that will run through the rest of the experiment. And as Married fans know, fireworks at the altar or on the honeymoon don't necessarily make for a lasting relationship.
Wednesday February 7: Squinters, ABC, 9pm

THIS six-part comedy series tracks the trials and tribulations of five carloads of travellers in peak hour morning transit and again on their drive home to find out how the workday turned out.
Why you should watch: This hilarious series from the producers of No Activity and A Moody Christmas is a hoot. Jacki Weaver and Sam Simmons' scenes are a particular highlight.
Thursday February 8: Gogglebox, Ten, 9pm

THE hit television show about Australians watching television, returns to screens tonight for its seventh season. Join everybody's favourite Goggleboxers as they provide their honest commentary and feedback on some of the best and worst television programs of the week.
Why you should watch: With so much good and bad TV on at the moment, it's the perfect time for the Gogglebox stars to return and offer up their hilarious and heartfelt reactions.
Friday February 9: Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony, Seven, 10pm

Australians can watch the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games on Channel 7, 7mate and online from today through February 25. With South Korea is just two hours behind Sydney and Melbourne and one hour behind Queensland, you won't have to stay up late to see your favourite events.
Why you should watch: The 2018 Winter Team is Australia's strongest yet, with Lydia Lassila, Scotty James, Britt Cox and David Morris all real chances for medal finishes.
Saturday February 10: Engineering Space, SBS, 7.35pm

THIS is the extraordinary story of the engineers who push the envelope to create the world's first reusable space vehicle the Space Shuttle - the most complex machine ever made and one that promises to make spaceflight routine.
Why you should watch: Everybody knows the names of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, but America's journey into space is much bigger than that. This is the story of the unsung heroes who took America into space.
