Centre’s health scheme to be named NaMoCare: Angadi

| Updated: Feb 4, 2018, 16:47 IST
Belagavi: The National Health Protection Scheme, announced in the Union Budget, is likely to be christened NaMoCare, said Belagavi MP Suresh Angadi here on Saturday. "The matter was discussed in a BJP meeting in New Delhi and party national president Amit Shah is interested in naming the scheme NaMoCare," Angadi told reporters.

The scheme will provide up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization, he said. Responding to allegations of corruption in the Prime Minister Fasal Bima Yojana, he said it is the responsibility of states to implementing scheme properly since state and Centre have equal share in it. "States have powers to take action against insurance companies in case of lapses," he said.

Stating that Belagavi airport could not be included in the Udan scheme, Angadi said that he is putting in efforts for the same.
