THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPM has come down heavily on party general secretary Sitaram Yechury and the CPI during their Thiruvananthapuram district meeting.
The members who took part in the meeting alleged that Yechury is greedy about positions and status. They added that Yechury, who says that the CPM must join with the Congress to defeat the BJP, has vested interests.
They also said that Yechury is miffed at not being able to become an MP again and that he is someone who would stoop down to any level to attain positions.
Criticisms were also raised against the home department which is handled by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The main allegation was that most of the policemen are RSS members, and that the CM is reluctant to control them.
The party representatives also criticised Finance Minister Dr. Thomas Isaac. They said that Dr. Isaac came to realise many things about the GST at a later stage and by that time things had already gotten out of hands.
CPI made attempts to defeat C Divakaran
The CPM Nedumangad area committee representatives have alleged that the CPI district secretary G R Anil and others attempted to make their Nedumangad constituency candidate C Divakaran lose in the Assembly elections.
They added that the CPI leaders held a meeting to take propagate against Divakaran.
They also said that Divakaran sought the help of the CPM after learning about the move against him, and it’s only with their help that he won in the elections.
