Govt announces Tk 5 lakh bounty on question leaker

The government declared a bounty of Tk 5 lakh for identifying each criminal involved in question paper leakage on social media sites.

 

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid came up with the announcement on Sunday while piefing reporters after an emergency meeting with the national monitoring committee on law and order at the ministry on the ongoing Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations, reports UNB.

 

Meanwhile, an 11-member committee, headed by Md Alamgir, secretary of Vocational and Madrasa Division of the Education Ministry, for examining the allegations of the question paper leak and take decision over the cancellation of examinations as per its recommendations.

 

The meeting was held amid widespread allegations over the leakage of question papers of all the examinations on social media sites, including Facebook.

 

The minister earlier had declared that examinations would be cancelled if the allegation of question paper leak is proved.
