FLORENCE - Ronald Blackman Britt, 88, of Florence, SC, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2018, at McLeod Hospice House.
He was born in Fayetteville, NC, a son of the late Marvin and Missouri Faircloth Britt.
He is also predeceased by two brothers, Marvin Britt, Jr. and Curtis Britt and three sisters, Effie Powers, Dorothy Klisiewiez and Letha Hall.
Mr. Britt served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. He retired as Manager from A&P and also was retired from Schofield Hardware. He was a member of the Florence Baptist Temple where he was a greeter and was a member of the Kent Kendall Sunday school class. He was a member of the Gideons and he loved fishing and sports, especially the NC State Wolfpack.
Surviving are his wife, Edith McNeill Britt; a daughter, Rhonda (Charles) Stevens of Selma, NC; two sons, Gregory (Melissa) Frazier of Florence, SC and Jeffery (Katie) Frazier of N. Richland Hills, TX; and three grandchildren, Zachary T. Frazier of Myrtle Beach, SC, Desmond A. Frazier and Declan Frazier, both of N. Richland Hills, TX.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at the Florence Baptist Temple Chapel, directed by Cain Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the Chapel one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at 3:30 PM at Lafayette Memorial Park, 2301 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301.
