ASHEBORO - The Southwestern Randolph High School varsity girls basketball team posted a 56-27 win over Burlington Williams in Mid-Piedmont Conference action Saturday night. Heaven Maness had 24 points and nine assists, while Sarah Crews added 16 points for the Cougars (4-5, 16-5). The Cougars, who led 27-19 at halftime, outscored the Bulldogs 29-8 in the second half.
In the boys game, Williams posted a 79-47 win. The Bulldogs led 25-8 after the first quarter, 44-18 at halftime and 61-30 heading into the final eight minutes of play. Tanner Ferguson and Ethan Reynolds had nine points each for the Cougars (1-8, 6-15).
