The Sun claim the Blues are expecting to lose Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid at the end of the season, meaning they will need a new No 1.
And Hart - who is on loan with West Ham this season - is said to fit the bill and could be a suitable temporary replacement for the Belgian.
It is said the 30-year-old England international will be made available on a free transfer, despite being under contract until 2019.

The Blues, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are all said to be tracking the 24-year-old who has a cut-price £53m release clause.
