Imphal, February 03 2018: Polling for election of a new president of Manipur People's Party (MPP) will be held tomorrow at GM Hall.

Four candidates namely; Saratkumar Maimom, Oinam Jugindro, Yengkokpam Priyokumar and Mayengbam Amutombi are fighting for the regional party's top post.

Speaking to media persons, Returning Officer Udoi Luwang said that altogether 377 delegates coming from 44 Assembly Constituencies will cast votes in three polling booths.

Votes would be counted tomorrow itself and result will be declared immediately after the counting is over, said the Returning Officer.

He also appealed to all the delegates to come for the election on time and ensure that the election is held smoothly and peacefully.

Before the polling, the triennial general conference of the party would be held.

The conference would deliberate on six key issues of the State and consensual resolutions would be adopted, Udoi said.

The six issues which would be deliberated at the conference are AFSPA, implementation of ILPS, State's boundary, employment generation, Framework Agreement and political economy.
