KOZHIKODE: Transport Minister A K Saseendran has said that former minister Thomas Chandy does not have any role in the petition against him in connection with the phone conversation case, submitted at the Kerala High Court.

He added that he doesn’t believe that any other members in the NCP has any role in it either.

“Without any clear evidence or conviction, I will not ask for a probe within the party in connection with the petition. If a probe has to be demanded I’d need substantiating facts or evidences, and I don’t have any of these,” he said.

Meanwhile, the special branch has initiated a probe in connection with the petition against Saseendran.

It has been brought to light that the petition against Saseendran was filed at the Thiruvananthapuram CJM Court, which acquitted him in the phone conversation case, and later approached the HC seeking to revoke the order passed by the Thiruvananthapuram CJM Court, was the maid-help of Thomas Chandy’s PA. She was identified as Thycaud native Mahalakshmi.

However Mahalakshmi has said that has submitted the petition against A K Saseendran on her own accord.

It has been found out that Mahalakshmi is the maid-help of Thomas Chandy’s PA who was newly appointed after Thomas Chandy resigned as the transport minister.

It has also been reported that Thomas Chandy’s new PA has close connections with a former minister who cooperates with the LDF. Sources close to Saseendran speculates that the petition against him came as a result of this.
