Traders continue strike in Delhi for second day

The 48 hours long trade bandh called by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) enters into second day on Saturday as all major wholesale and retail markets in Delhi observed a complete bandh. The markets wore a deserted look and no business activity took place in any of the markets of Delhi.

Though appreciating the proposals mooted by DDA for amending the Master Plan to bring relief to traders from sealing, the CAIT has sent a 12 point traders charter to  Hardeep Puri, Union Minister for Urban Development, urging him to take necessary steps to mitigate the problems of the traders on account of sealing.

Several AAP MLAs and municipal councillors visited markets across Delhi and offered support to the shutdown called by traders over the sealing drive.

The party demanded immediate de-sealing of shops in Delhi. “There is widespread resentment in the traders against the MCD and DDA for delaying the relief to the traders,” the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) party said in a statement.
