Chandel, February 03 2018: The Naga Students Union Chandel (NSUC) in a press statement expressed concern over the unethical practices of DIC Chandel while conducting interview for identification of beneficiaries under PMEGP Scheme2016-2017 .

A press release issued by information and secretary of NSUC stated that departments namely KVIC, KVIB & DIC have selected 400 beneficiaries exceeding the sanctioned numbers.

The Union alleged that the DIC indulge in bribery amounting from Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 from each selected candidate to include them in the beneficiary list while the banks are not allowing them.

However, the banks are not willing to sanctioning such huge number of beneficiaries, it added.

The union further questioned the selection of extra beneficiaries exceeding the required numbers and bribing the candidates for the sake of the list.

It urged the DC Chandel not to hold fresh interview unless the matter is resolved amicably at the earliest.

In the event of DIC Chandel going ahead with the proposed interview slated on February 3,5 and 6, the Union along with the JAC will launch various form of agitations.
