MP team defeats UP by 2-0

Exhibiting a wonderful performance at All India Civil Service Volleyball Championship Madhya Pradesh defeated Uttar Pradesh Secretariat by 2-0.

On the second day of All India Civil Services Volleyball Championship, the players of Madhya Pradesh performed brilliantly defeating Uttar Pradesh Secretariat by 25-13, 25-18 in two sets. On Saturday 15 matches were played in the first session starting from 8 am.

In the first session RSB Chhattisgarh defeated RSB Jaipur, RSB Hyderabad defeated RSB Ranchi, Karnataka Secretariat defeated Chhattisgarh Secretariat, Central Secretariat Delhi defeated Kerala Secretariat, Rajasthan Secretariat defeated GNCT Delhi, Uttarakhand Secretariat defeated Haryana Secretariat, RSB Ahmedabad defeated RSB Mumbai, RSB Jabalpur defeated RSB Uttarakhand.

Further RSB Chhattisgarh defeated RSB Kanpur, RSB Jaipur defeated RSB Ranchi, Pondicherry Secretariat defeated Secretariat of Karnataka, Kerala Secretariat Orissa Secretariat defeated Rajasthan Secretariat and RSB Mumbai defeated RSB Patna by 2-0.

Similarly, in the second season, RSB Chennai defeated RSB Uttarakhand, RSB Jaipur defeated RSB Kanpur, RSB Kochi defeated RSB Chhattisgarh, Odisha Secretariat defeated Tamil Nadu Secretariat and Goa Secretariat defeated Telangana Secretariat by 2-0. A total of 74 competitions will be played under the competition in which 66 league matches will be played.

The closing ceremony of the All India Civil Services Volleyball competition will be held on Monday. Upendra Jain, Director Sports and Youth Welfare said that the Chief Guest of the closing ceremony, VP Singh Chief Secretary, Madhya Pradesh Government.

Meanwhile, Harshita Tomar, player of the Water Sports Academy, won the gold medal while performing in the laser 4.7 event of ‘Sailing the East Coast International Regatta.’ It is organised under Indo-French fest Bonjour India in Pondicherry. Academy player Govind Bairagi won the silver medal in the championship. Academy player Kashish Singh secured first position in the Laser Radial Event in Girls category.

State Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia appreciated the academy players for their excellent performance.

In the championship more than 50 players from different states of the country participated in the competition, including ten French players. It is worth mentioning that GL Yadav the Chief Coach of the Academy train the players.
