NAVARRE BEACH — Beads and blankets ruled the day Saturday as thousands of people lined a chilly and breezy Gulf Boulevard for the annual Navarre Mardi Gras Parade.

Some people arrived as early as 5 a.m. to be assured of a great seat to watch the three-hour parade.

The party continued at the fishing pier after the parade ended.
