Bulundshahr was rocked by the sensational murder of two girls and the attempted torching of their bodies. Top police officers who reached t he scene backed by forensic experts did not rule out the possibility of the victims being raped before being bumped off.
Taking serious note, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath sought a detailed report in the matter. Paying condolences to the victims, Yogi directed officers to ensure the arrest of the culprits at the earliest.
As per reports, Gajendra lived with his family in Bahmau hamlet of Bibiganj and the marriage of his son Rahul was settled for February 18. The family and the groom had gone to Delhi for making purchases for thr wedding on Thursday. Gajendra’s 23-year-old daughter Sheelu and his niece Shivani (22) were left in the house. Late on Thursday evening, Gajendra got a call from his neighbour that thick smoke was emanating out of his house.
Later the police was called and as they entered inside, they found the semi-burnt body of Sheelu lying in the floor and that of Shivani hanging from the ceiling. The assailants used clutch wire to strangulate them and later tried to torch their bodies.
With no household articles missing, senior officers apprehended that the motive behind the murder could be enmity. A mobile phone was also found lying near the bodies which was seized.
An officer engaged in investigation claimed that they were also looking into love angle as it could be possible that both girls might have been killed in the name of saving ‘family honour’. The bodies were sent for autopsy and investigations are underway.
Meanwhile in Jaunpur, a woman and her daughter were killed after she jumped with her three children in front of a train at Krishna Nagar railway station. Her two daughters were critically injured and shifted to a hospital.
As per reports, Gita Devi (38) jumped in front of a train with her daughters Khushi (14), Khushbu (5) and Kusum (3) in which Gita and Khushi died on the spot. The incident is believed to be a fallout of a family dispute and the police was probing the matter.
Elsewhere in Muzaffarnagar, a 24-year-old woman was raped by a man while she was alone in her house at Bhopura village. SHO of Bhopa police station Vijay Singh said that the accused entered the woman’s house when her husband was away and raped her on Thursday evening. A case was registered and the victim was sent for medical examination. The accused was yet to be arrested.
