Suspected DUI driver hits state trooper in Sequim

A 34-year-old woman suspected of driving under the influence was taken to a hospital Friday night after hitting a state trooper vehicle in Sequim, according to a statement released Saturday by the Washington State Patrol.

The 45-year-old trooper was also taken to Olympic Medical Center after the wreck. State Patrol described the incident as a “minor injury collision.”

The trooper was reportedly traveling eastbound on Old Olympic Highway when the woman, a Sequim resident, pulled onto the highway from Carlsborg Road. The woman faces DUI charges.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
