North Eastern Chapter of EIRC of ICSI inaugurated at Guwahati
Shri Naba Kumar Doley, Hon’ble Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development, Sports & Youth Welfare, Cultural Affairs, Social Welfare, Government of Assam inaugurated the State of Art new Office Building of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) for its North Eastern (NE) Chapter at LKRB Road, Bye Lane No. 1, Nabin Nagar, Guwahati, Assam. CS (Dr.) Shyam Agrawal, President of ICSI, from New Delhi, CS S. K. Agrawala, Council Member of ICSI from Kolkata, CS Siddhartha Murarka, Chairman Eastern Regional Council of ICSI, Dr. S. K. Jena, Director, ICSI Delhi, CS Amit Pareek, Chairman North East chaper ICSI were present during the Inauguration.
As a part of the inclusive growth of the Govt. of India, The ICSI this year had launched a fee waiver scheme for the students of North-East to bring them to the main stream of the Company Secretaryship course in which the students from the North East get opportunity to take admission in CS course free of cost. The ICSI had dedicated its energies this year for empowering the students in North-East by promoting CS profession in the entire seven states of the North East.
Talking in the occasion, CS (Dr.) Shyam Agrawal, President of ICSI, stated that, the newly created chapter premise of ICSI at Guwahati will facilitate the members and students of the entire north-eastern region and will create a new Horizon for contributing towards the economic prosperity of the Region by creating new start- ups in years to come.
Cs Amit Pareek, Chairman of the North-Eastern Chapter of ICSI welcomed the Hon’ble minister and the delegates came from Delhi and Kolkata. The company secretaries, Chartered Accountants, Cost Accountants, Businessman, lawyers and educationist and academicians were present during the inauguration functions. All the members of the management committee of the NE Chapter took lot of initiative to complete the construction work of the new Building of the NE chapter in a very short span of time.

At present, the Institute has more than 53,000 members and about 3.5 lakh students pursuing the Company Secretaryship (CS) Course. The Institute of Company Secretaries of India is the only recognized professional body in India for providing CS Course in India and develop & regulate the profession of Company Secretaries in India.
