Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday reiterated his allegation that the State Government is fully responsible for the suicide of Kunduli gangrape victim.
“The then Government was very insensitive to the Anjana Mishra case. The insensitiveness of those in the present Government led to the Kunduli tragedy,” he said.
Pradhan played a record for people to hear an interview of Kunduli victim Sasmita. A girl was heard saying how the DGP offered her Rs 90,000 to keep mum about the rape and she was put in a hospital for treatment of mental disorder while she was mentally sound.
Pradhan repeated his allegation at a BJP joining meeting at Mahanga in Cuttack district where Mahanga Bikash Parishad president Sarada Prasad Pradhan and his large number of supporters joined the saffron party.
Pradhan criticised Health Minister Pratap Jena, who represents Mahanga in the Assembly, for dearth of doctors in hospitals in Jena’s own constituency and other places in the State.
