COMILLA, Feb 2: Police recovered seven firearms from a vegetable-laden pickup-van on Comilla-Sylhet highway at Debpur area under Burichong Upazila here on Thursday morning.
Officer-in-Charge of Burichong Police Station Monoj Kumar Dey said a pickup-van loaded with vegetables was crossing the Debpur police outpost when on-duty policemen searched the van and recovered six rifles and one single barrel gun.
At one stage, both the drivers and helpers of the pickup-van managed to flee the scene.
A case was filed in this connection.
