Imphal, February 02 2018: REYS, Nagamapal ovelwhelmed FORCE, Kshetrigao with a 9 wicket win in the first quarter final match of 1st Heibok T-20 Cricket Tournament organised by Langthabal Sporting Club at Langthabal Public Ground while PTRC, Patsoi also enjoyed a similar win against BLUE HAWK, Khurai in the second quarter final match.

The first quarter final saw, REYS win the toss and elect to bowl first.

The inning was not an intense one as the bowlers of REYS could not take wickets in time though they maintained an average economy.

FORCE who went out with a huge expectation could gather only 111 for 5 in 20 overs.

Sadam who smashed 36 runs in 30 balls was the highest scorer for the Kshetrigao side while his compatriot Jali added 27 runs off 21 balls.

Subam also contributed 16 runs in this inning.

Jitendra of REYS claimed two wickets in 4 overs offering 22 runs while Sanjoy and Jayenta picked 1 wicket each.

The chase went smooth as Mintu who stayed on the crease not out, scoring 47 runs off 48 balls helped REYS reach the target in 17.3 for 1 wicket down.

Alai made 41 runs before he was dismissed by Sadam.

Mintu was latter declared man of the match.

In the second quarter final match of the tournament played in the afternoon session, PTRC's Tennyson struck an outstanding 53 runs off 43 balls in the chase to give his team a emphatic 9 wicket victory.

BLUE HAWK, who opted to bat first took off the inning in a bright note with Samson hitting a half century in 50 balls before he was bowled.

Ozzy and Rahul scored 28 runs and 15 runs respectively to post a total of 105 for 7 in 20 overs.

Sanjit proved to be a trouble maker as he enjoyed a three wicket haul in 4 overs offering 16 runs in this inning while Dipu claimed two in 4 overs giving 13 runs.

PTRC saw a huge boost in the second inning as openers Tenyson and Gelson engineered a formidable partnership to reach the target in 15.3 overs for loss of one wicket.

Gelson contributed 33 runs in 34 balls in this chase to give his team a semifinal berth with a 9 wicket victory.

His partner Tennyson was named man of the match.

YWC, Langthabal will take on TRAU, Kwakeithel tomorrow in the third quarter final match at 9 am while CYCLONE, Thangmeiband will meet CHAMP, Khagempalli in the last quarter final match.
