Avery Anderson and Jordan Keys each had 16 as the Northwest Texans stayed unbeaten in District 6-5A, downing Chisholm Trail 63-51.
The Texans held the Rangers to 19 first-half points and took a double-digit lead into the third and fourth quarter. Mason Hix poured in 10 points to help Northwest come away with the win.
The Texans improved to 26-6 on the season and 10-0 in district. Northwest hosted Aledo Friday.
CITY VIEW 49, BOYD 46
A team-high 17 points for Connor Richardson was not enough as Boyd narrowly fell to City View 49-46.
The Mustangs made a living at the charity stripe in the fourth quarter, as almost half of their points in the final frame came at the line.
The Yellowjackets held a slim 20-17 lead at halftime, but were not able to retain it. City View went on a 17-8 run in the third quarter, which proved to be the difference.
The Yellowjackets fell into a tie with Henrietta for fifth in District 8-3A at 3-7. Heading into Friday, Boyd was two games back of City View for the final playoff spot in district with four games remaining.
The Yellowjackets traveled to Jacksboro Friday.
HENRIETTA 57, PARADISE 48
Henrietta used a 21-point fourth quarter to topple Paradise 57-48.
Despite the hot shooting from Danny Richardson, who drained six 3-pointers, the Panthers were not able to come away with the win. Richardson was the only Paradise player in double figures with 20.
The Panthers only trailed the Bearcats by four entering the fourth quarter, but were not able to complete the comeback.
Martin Crawford finished with eight points for the Panthers.
Paradise fell to 2-8 in District 8-3A. The Panthers traveled to Holliday Friday.
VICTORY CHRISTIAN 44, AZLE CHRISTIAN 35
Davis Shriver scored 15 points and Victory Christian beat Azle Christian, 44-35.
The Patriots held Azle Christian to three points in the second quarter, helping them to a 21-12 halftime lead.
“We need to play hard the whole game,” Victory Christian coach Gary Dickenson said. “We need to finish stronger.”
Austin Howell had 10 points for the Patriots.
