Sound Off for Sunday, Feb. 4

BUYER’S REGRET

“The Truth” has proven, first of all, how stupid they are by believing that Trump would actually be re-elected. If he doesn’t get impeached he’ll be forced to resign, which is probably what’s going to happen. There aren’t enough morons like “The Truth” left in the country to be able to re-elect Donald Trump. People who voted for the first time, who were of at least average intelligence, regret what they have done and will never vote for him again. It’s only the truly stupid like “The Truth” that actually think that Donald Trump could win another election.

A BIG HAND

I’d like to send a big thank you to the person who stuck my pair of gloves under the windshield wiper of our car on Friday night, Jan. 26, outside the Ichiban Café. Thank you again. I really appreciate it.

USE YOUR HEAD

I see so many people texting when you’re crossing the street – it goes to show you how these high tech people think. They should have common sense and not text when they cross the street. That way they won’t get hit by a car. There are too many intellectual idiots.

SOME FREE ADVICE

The real opioid crisis is not pills or needles. It’s the hopeless and shallow lifestyle that some people choose, especially young people who should be conscientiously attending school, doing their assignments and pursuing personal career goals. They should also have a part-time job of under 20 hours a week. They should choose their friends who are good students, who have attentive parents and will support them so that they can achieve. If there is an externality to blame, it’s a lack of mature and active support from the adults in young people’s lives.

UP IN SMOKE

Do not legalize marijuana for recreational use. Medical reasons are one thing, but for recreation use is another. It’s one more drug on the market just for people to become addicted. Don’t tell me they’re not addicted, because I know people that smoke pot every day and they can’t live without it. Remember, booze was illegal until our government found out they can make money from it. They legalized it. They found out the same with gambling. They legalized it. They’re doing it now with drugs. You think we have a problem now? Just wait another five years.

WAIT AND SEE

A CULTURE OF CORRUPTION

In the Times’ “Darts and Laurels,” the editorial board said that it was a stunner that state Republicans are appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court decision by our state Supreme Court to throw out the totally unconstitutional gerrymandered redistricting that Republicans did. But it shouldn’t be a stunner. Our Republican Legislature has repeatedly shown how corrupt it is and has been for decades. I totally expected them to do this.

UPS AND DOWNS

To “Magic Mike In Havertown,” if you want to know about gas prices, watch the price of oil every day on the business channel. When the oil price goes up, so does gas at the pump; when the price comes down, gas comes down but maybe not as much. You be the judge. Remember when gas was $4 a gallon? At that time, oil was over $100 a barrel. Today it’s around $64 a barrel.

PENNY PINCHER IN ASTON

BITTER JUSTICE

So Justice Ginsberg, at 84, says it’s sticking around no matter what, basically to spite Trump. I guess it makes sense for an architect of the modern left – clearly she has deep-seated bitterness and spitefulness in her psyche.

DO THEIR JOBS? HAH!

With the evidence mounting that Donald Trump did indeed commit impeachable offenses, I’m reminded of what someone said a couple of months ago: They said that if it comes out the Donald Trump should be impeached, Republicans in Congress have a constitutional duty to impeach him. But this is today’s Republican Party – these Republicans have no sense of duty, no sense of honor, no morals and no ethics. So I think would be a stretch for these people to actually do their duty and impeach Trump when the time comes.
