Parkston/Ethan/Hanson wins Region 2B gymnastics title

WAGNER — Parkston/Ethan/Hanson claimed the Region 2A gymnastics team title on Friday in Wagner.

P/E/H recorded a score of 131.300, while Chamberlain finished second with 129.225 points and Wagner/Bon Homme took fourth with 126.750. The top three teams from each region qualify for the state meet. Individually, the top five finishes qualify for state as well. P/E/H finished with 34.525 in vault, 34.875 in floor, 31.125 in beam and 30.775 in bars.

Winning the all-around competition was Wagner/Bon Homme's Emily Duffek with a score of 34.800, while P/E/H's McKenzie Prunty placed second (34.350), Jada Plastow was fourth (34.125) and Tyra Zens finished fifth (33.825).

Duffek placed first in bars (8.550) and floor (9.325).

The state meet in Feb. 9-10 in Watertown.
