Indore: Applicant’s vehicle rams into RTO office building

Indore: Chaos prevailed in RTO office on Friday when an applicant rammed his vehicle into office building of Regional Transport Office at Nayta Mundla.

The applicant had reached the RTO for taking a driving test but he rammed his vehicle into the building before going to test track.

According to officials, Gourav Singh, a constable of Police Training College, had applied for the learning licence in August and had come to take the driving test for a permanent licence on Friday.

“Singh was asked to reach driving track by the inspector for the test. However, before reaching the track, he lost control over his vehicle and rammed his Maruti 800 into the office building,” RTO Jitendra Raghuvanshi said.

He said that learning licence of Singh has been seized and his application for permanent licence has also been cancelled.

It was not for the first time when an applicant rammed vehicle into the office building as a woman applicant had also done so.

Fitness centre to be shifted

Irked over complaints of irregularities and corruption at the vehicle fitness centre, located at Niranjanpur, the Regional Transport Officer has decided to shift the centre to the main RTO Office.

Raghuvanshi has also sent a proposal to the department for providing budget for the same.

All heavy and commercial vehicles get their fitness certificate at the fitness centre in Niranjanpur where fitness officials use to provide certificates to at least 250 to 300 vehicles daily. However, a large number of vehicles get fitness certificate daily which raises question over the time given to one vehicle for fitness.

“We are getting complaints of irregularities at the fitness center at Niranjanpur after which we have decided to shift the centre to the main office at Nayta Mundla. The office will be shifted in a couple of months as we have asked for the budget to prepare the road and arranging other facilities,” the RTO said.
