THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Taking a pot shot at the CPM, BJP national executive committee member V Muraleedharan has said that the CPM leaders are leading a lavish and luxurious life after reserving cost-cutting and simple living only for its lower members.
He pointed out that the Speaker, who is the head of the Assembly, himself buying Rs. 50,000 worth spectacles using the treasury money is a good example for his argument.
“The Speaker himself has bought a spectacles worth Rs. 50,000 using the money from the treasury when the CPM is lambasting about economic crisis and cost cutting by asking members to switch to cheaper mobile plans. The CPM leaders and their children are proving every day that all these are just talks to impress the public and they themselves do not follow it.”
He also said that Sitaram Yechury, who said that the case of financial fraud raised against Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s son has been referred to the state leadership, must clarify whether he is happy about the action taken by the state leadership on the matter.
Muraleedharan also alleged that the CPM state leadership that is taking actions against the stance of Yechury is just trying to run away from the issue.
