Minnesota AFL-CIO endorses Nolan
The Minnesota AFL-CIO endorsed Congressman Rick Nolan for his 2018 reelection bid Friday.
"Rick Nolan is a consistent champion for the working people of the eighth district and across Minnesota," said Minnesota AFL-CIO president Bill McCarthy. "Congressman Nolan understands that America is strong when organized labor is strong."
According to a press release, the endorsement comes because Nolan opposed rigged trade agreements that send American jobs overseas, led the charge to increase tariffs on foreign steel putting thousands of Minnesotans back to work and voted to protect union rights and prevailing wage.
"Rick Nolan shares labor's values and puts them into action every day," said North East Area Labor Council president Alan Netland. "Union members across the eighth district are committed to sending him back to Congress."
