While peace returning to strife-hit Kasganj, the local police extended security to Chandan Gupta’s family after his father claime to have received life threats. Chandan was shot dead during a violent face off last Friday.
Sushil Gupta, Chandan’s father, alleged that he was sitting outside his house on Thursday when two people on a bike came and threatened him and his family with dire consequences.
“Our lives are under threat, we demand licence for firearms for our safety and security,” he told local reporters in Kasganj. After learning of the threats, local cops met Gupta and extended security cover outside his house.
Earlier, the police arrested peime accused Saleem, but his two brothers Naseem and Waseem charged with the murder are still absconding.
Additional DG (Law and Order) Anand Kumar said that as per the FIR and statements of some witnesses, Saleem opened fire from a roof or balcony of his house that killed the college student.
