A delegation of senior Pakistani officials arrived in Kabul for talks with the Afghan officials, the ministry of foreign affairs of Pakistan said.

A spokesman for the ministry of foreign affairs of Pakistan said the delegation is led by foreign secretary Tehmina Janjua.

Dr. Faisal further added that the officials will hold talks with the Afghan officials as part of the Afghanistan Pakistan Action Plan for Solidarity.

The visit by Pakistani delegation comes day after senior Afghan officials visited Islamabad in the wake of the recent deadly attacks in Kabul and other provinces.

Intelligence chief Masoom Stanikzai and Interior Minister Wais Ahmad Barmak told reporters last week that undeniable information and evidences have been shared with the Pakistani officials regarding the involvement of the Pakistani-based Taliban figures in the recent attacks.

They also added that the issue is expected to be further discussed during the visit of Pakistani delegation to Kabul on Saturday.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan in a statement said the deputy foreign minister Hekmat Khalil Karzai will lead the Afghan side in the talks with the Pakistani officials.

The statement further added that the Afghan officials will hold talks on serious steps to be taken against terrorism in the wake of the recent attacks in Afghanistan.
