Airborne Troopers sought

AKRON — The Akron Chapter of the 82nd Airborne Division is seeking all past and present Airborne Troopers who live in northeastern Ohio (except those of the greater Cleveland area and to the east of Cleveland as they have their own chapter).

The Akron Chapter meets at 1 p.m. at the New Era Restaurant, at the intersection of Massillon and East Market streets in Akron. The chapter meets the first Sunday of most months.

Anyone who has earned a Parachutist Badge (jump wings) or was a Glider Trooper, regardless of what military unit, can join. Anyone who was assigned to the 82nd in a non-jump status may also join. Dues are $25 per year or life membership, $250 if 49 or younger, $175 if 50 or older. Discounted rates are available to active duty personnel.
