Three students were killed when their motorcycle collided with a gas cylinder laden truck, police said on Saturday. The mishap occurred on the Palakkad by-pass road when an engineering student of a private college was taking two friends on his bike to his rented room at nearby Malumichapatti in the midnight.

When the student tried to overtake a lorry carrying iron sheets, the bike collided with the truck coming from the opposite direction, police said. All the three students died on the spot.
