Chelsea news: Antonio Conte could be SACKED if Blues lose to Watford - EXCLUSIVE

ANTONIO CONTE is facing the sack as Chelsea boss and defeat at Watford tomorrow night could seal his fate.

The Italian is set to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season despite only winning the Premier League title last year.

But a combination of poor results and a rift with owner Roman Abramovich over who makes signings has left him on the brink.

Abramovich has proved that he isn’t scared to wield the axe and Conte is close to becoming the next name on what has become down the years a long list.

The Blues are currently 21 points behind runaway leaders Manchester City and could even miss out on the Champions League next season.

They are locked in a battle with Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham for the three remaining places and could have to settle for the Europa League.

Conte has been linked with a return to Italy in his old role as national team boss even though he has been quick to play down the links.

He said: “My intention, my will, my desire is to respect this contract.

“Costacurta is a friend, but maybe he forgot that I still have 18 months of contract with Chelsea.”

The Blues look set to turn to former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique to take over from Conte and he is free to move to London immediately if required.
