— D.J. Robertson tallied 29 points to lead Athens Drive past Cary on the road Tuesday night, 54-28, and snap the Jaguars’ three-game losing skid.

Cary struggled from the get-go against Athens Drive, falling to a seven-point deficit after the first eight minutes of play.

The Imps’ night didn’t get any easier after senior Phillip Blackley exited with a left ankle injury early in the second quarter. Blackley scored four of Cary’s six points in the first frame.

Without Blackley in the lineup, Cary was outscored 26-15 in the second half.

Athens Drive scored only six field goals in the second half, and they were all scored by Robertson. The standout junior finished 9-of-12 from the free-throw line in the final two quarters.

All of Cary’s second-half baskets came from beyond-the-arc. D.J. Horne and B.J. Keith tallied one triple apiece, and Deymean Parker drained two from downtown.

Parker tallied three triples Friday night and led the Imps with a team-high 10 points.

Cary has lost its last three games and moves to 4-4 in road games this season.

Athens Drive (14-7, 2-5 Tri-6) will return to action at 8 p.m. on Tuesday on the road against Panther Creek. Cary (11-8, 3-4 Tri-6) is slated to host Riverside at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
