Two arrested for taking liquor illegally,  country made liquor worth Rs 15L seized

Indore : Police on Saturday seized country-made liquor worth more  than Rs15 lakh which was being transported in two mini-trucks even though there was permission for only one vehicle.

Two persons were arrested and a warehouse officer of the excise department was also booked for granting permission to the accused.

According to Rau police station in-charge Nalin Budholiya, they received information that a mini-truck laden with country-made liquor was traveling towards Hatod after which police team reached there and stopped the truck. The truck driver showed them a permit in which it was mentioned that they were taking liquor in another truck as the main truck broke down. They were carrying liquor to Hatod from Mhow in another truck whose permission was not taken.


Later, the police reached Mhow warehouse of excise department where the main truck was being loaded for liquor with same permission.

Budholiya said that two mini trucks were seized and liquor worth about 15 lakh was also received from the accused. Truck drivers Mukesh Swami and Gopal Yadav of Mhow were arrested and warehouse officer, who had granted permission, was also booked by the police. Police are collecting information about the warehouse officer and further investigation is on.
