Arsene Wenger makes SHOCK revelation about Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang transfer
ARSENE WENGER had doubts over the arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The striker joined the Gunners on deadline day for a fee of £56m.
Arsenal had been linked with the striker throughout January after Aubameyang was suspended by Borussia Dortmund for disciplinary reasons.
The 28-year-old is unlikely to make his debut against Everton this evening.
And Wenger has revealed there were times he thought Aubameyang would not join at all.
“There were plenty of times when I thought that might not happen,” he admitted.
“First of all the time became very short and it had to work on three fronts.

"And one linked with another one, you don't know any more who masters the situation.

Many have claimed Aubameyang was not Wenger's first choice signing.
Dortmund's former chief scout and new addition to Arsenal's staff Sven Mislintat was said to have organised the deal.
But the Gunners boss insists he has always rated Aubameyang.

“I was on the case already,” Wenger said.
“We had interest in him when he was already in Dortmund.
“And I followed him at St Etienne when he played more on the flanks – especially on the left and on the right.
"He can play down the flanks and through the middle, that was what was interesting as well.”
