The latest reports suggest that John Abraham and Diana Penty‘s upcoming film ‘Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran’, which was to previously hit the screens on March 2, has yet again been pushed to April 6, this year. After the makers of Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor starrer Padman shifted the release date of the film from January 25 to February 9 to avoid clash with Ranveer Singh’s Padmaavat, now the makers of John Abraham and Diana Penty starrer ‘Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran’ have decided to shift their release date from March 2 to April 6 so as to avoid clash with Anushka Sharma‘s Pari.

Earlier today, Film Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to his micro-blogging site to announce the news. He wrote, “#Parmanu #TheStoryOfPokhran, which was slated for release on 2 March 2018, will now release on 6 April 2018… Stars John Abraham, Diana Penty and Boman Irani… Abhishek Sharma directs… Poster announcing the new release date: (sic)” John too announced the new release date on Twitter, alongside a poster of the film and wrote, “The countdown to the mission begins!!! #ParmanuThisApril – 06.04.18”

Apparently, John had little choice, a person close to the production said, “Anushka Sharma’s scare-fest in Pari is already grabbing a whole lot of attention. The latest promo has sent chills down the nations’s spine. Whereas John’s promotion for Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran has not even started. Rather than rush into release, better sense prevailed. After a spate of flops, Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran is crucial for John. The film has to work as he has signed only one film (to be directed by Milap Jhaveri) after Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran. John wants to take no risks. It has to work.” ALSO READ: John Abraham’s Parmanu : The Story Of Pokhran To Clash With Anushka Sharma’s Pari On March 2

Helmed by Abhishek Sharma, John’s upcoming film Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran is based on a series of nuclear tests conducted by India in Pokran Rajasthan in 1998. Reports indicate that the film hasn’t been entirely shot in Pokhran, but more so in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. In Pokhran, the crew has reportedly shot at the Pokhran Fort. The other important locations of the film’s shoot include RTDC Midway, Aada Bazaar, Gandhi Chowk Main Market and Gomat railway stationThe film will have John Abraham make an on-screen comeback, that too in an action avatar after Dishoom in 2016. It also stars Diana Penty and Boman Irani in pivotal roles. Watch this space for further updates.
