Another suspect in Sabah Railway graft probe released

KOTA KINABALU: A suspect detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for alleged involvement in a corruption case involving the Sabah State Railway Department infrastructure project was released today.
Magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abbie ordered the 60-year-old contractor to be released on bail of RM50,000 with two local sureties.
The suspect, who was remanded for a week after being arrested on Jan 27, was also ordered to report to Sabah MACC Office once a month.
So far, seven suspects had been detained, five of whom had been released, while two others still on remand, to facilitate investigations into the case.
The MACC had also reported that it had seized cash amounting to RM1.6 million and frozen RM5.3 million in several bank accounts in connection with the case. — Bernama
