The Denison City Council is expected to consider approving an additional $450,000 for the ongoing renovations of the former Bank of America build, which will serve as the future Denison City Hall when it meets at 6 p.m. Monday at Denison City Hall. In December, officials with the city estimated the cost of the renovation project at about $3.15 million.
Documents for the meeting list improvements to make the bathrooms compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, mechanical work and a new roof as the projects that will be covered with these additional funds.
Other items that will be discussed during Monday’s meeting include:
• proposed amendments to the city’s minor curfew;
• a request to rezone 14 acres out of the Denison Industrial Park to light industrial with a conditional use permit for a concrete batch plant;
• an amendment to city code regarding platting procedures;
• testimony from the city building official regarding unsafe conditions at 512 W. Johnson, 1307 W. Nelson, 2211, W. Woodlawn and 2301 S. Austin; and
• a request to award a bid to Earnhart Built for the construction of a restroom in Forest Park.
In a closed, executive session, the council will discuss the following before reconvening in open session to take any necessary action:
• pending litigation regarding 715 W. Sears and 617 W. Florence.
