Amena Begum, wife of late Moslem Uddin Sheikh and mother of Sher Ali, general manager (business development) of The Daily Star, died early yesterday due to old age complications at a hospital in Dhaka.
She was 90.
Her first namaz-e-janaza was held at Taqwa mosque in Dhanmondi after Fazr prayers.
Her body was taken to the village home at Dighalkandi under Aminpur Thana in Pabna.
Following the second namaz-e-janaza after Juma prayers, she was buried at the family graveyard.
Amena left behind two daughters, two sons and grandchildren.
A doa-mahfil will be held at their village home after Johr prayers on February 5.
Relatives and well-wishers are requested to participate and pray for the salvation of her departed soul.
