Pakistan, Afghanistan to meet for talks

A Pakistani delegation is due to arrive in Afghanistan today with the aim of restarting talks to improve tense relations between the neighbouring countries. The Afghan government has repeatedly accused Pakistan and its spy agencies of assisting the Taleban and its affiliated militant outfits in the country, a charge that Islamabad has denied.


Yishun library reopens at Northpoint

Yishun Public Library will reopen today at Northpoint City mall. It offers a large collection of digital reading and learning content, as well as customised spaces for visitors of different ages.

Another library that will open in a commercial space later this year is Bukit Merah Public Library, which will be moving to VivoCity.


S'pore in global lion dance competition

The International Lion Dance Competition taking place today will see Singapore go up against teams from overseas such as China, Myanmar, Hong Kong and Vietnam.

The event in Banda Street, which began yesterday, will be a showcase of acrobatic feats. It will be attended by Dr Lily Neo, an MP for Jalan Besar GRC.
