Parivartan-2K18 commences with message against drug abuse

Parivartan 2K18’ — the 12th national techno-cultural fest of Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran — began on Friday with a strong message against drug abuse.

Organised on the theme of ‘Walking Down a Drug Free Path’, Parivartan 2K18 seeks to spread awareness against drug-abuse and encourage youth to lead a happy and active lifestyle to avoid getting into the lethal trap of drugs.

In a unique move, CGC Landran students, along with those from all participating educational institutions, also took an oath to stay away from drugs and substance abuse.

Sharing their views on the occasion, CGC Landran chairman Satnam Singh Sandhu and president Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal said that the fest seeks to infuse a sense of responsibility among students to become harbingers of positive social change.

“Such events encourage them to channelize their energies and hone their skills eventually helping them become well-rounded, socially responsible citizens taking the nation forward,” they said.

More than 30,000 students from various schools and colleges across the country are participating in this two-day event which will feature various competitions in technical, non-technical and cultural categories like competitions in web designing, CAD modelling, Robo-soccer, Ad Mad Show, programming, quizzes, debates, dance, singing, face painting among others.
