A VOLUNTEER police constable and PCSO have escaped injury after their car was rammed twice by a van after a 20-minute car chase.
The Durham Police special constable and a PCSO had attended a burglary at Stillington, near Sedgefield, when burglars attempted to ram their car four times.
The officers were called at 8pm last night, after a farmer disturbed burglars.

The suspects were reported to have made off in a red van and the officers stopped their car at a junction nearby, after estimating where it might be.
A post on the Special Constabulary's Facebook page said: "The suspect vehicle appeared shortly afterwards, but soon failed to stop for officers.
"A pursuit lasting approximately 20 minutes ensued and the suspects attempted to reverse-ram the police vehicle four times, unfortunately being successful twice.
"Due to the training of the officer driving, damage was minimal and nobody was hurt.
"Eventually, the suspects decamped from the vehicle and dog section and other units were called in to apprehend them."
